Increasing the level of patience of the child we can train by determining at what time we will play with blocks. However, it should be borne in mind that time for a toddler is a very abstract value, so it is better to make an appointment with him to play, for example, after afternoon tea or after returning from extra-curricular activities. This way it will be much easier for him to imagine how long he has to wait to play.
However, during the laying itself, a timer can be used, on which the time allotted for the use of one set will be counted down. This is especially useful if there are several children playing at the same time, who tend to take each other's toys. By watching the timer, they will be able to see when it is their turn to play. It will also help to strengthen patience in the toddler by teaching him to fold the blocks into the container one by one, before starting another game.

Challenges to be met

What may seem simple to us parents, for kids is often a big challenge. An example would be building a very tall tower or arranging a pattern of blocks according to the instructions provided. That's why it's so important to choose sets of toys according to the age and manual abilities of toddlers. In this way, they will face tasks that will not overwhelm them. If we present them with blocks that are too complicated to stack, they may quickly become discouraged from playing with them and just as quickly lose patience. Therefore, if we want to teach mastery from an early age, let's rather bet on magnetic blocks that will make it easier for the child to create, without being scattered by inattentive movements of the toddler. For older children, on the other hand, let's suggest playing with slightly more difficult blocks, so that they don't feel that it is too easy for them.

How to reward a toddler for patience?

In order to strengthen a trait in himself, the toddler needs to know that patience will be rewarded in some way. The most important thing to emphasize is that it is not the result in the form of blocks assembled according to the instructions that is important, but the efforts that the toddler puts into creating the structure. We can also promise the child that if he follows the set rules for a long time, for example, in playing with a timer, he will receive another dream set of blocks from us. This will also show him that patience pays off.
