Why WABI Was Created
I have been running a magnetic blocks store since 2007. Over the years, I noticed that children instinctively prefer wood over plastic — the warmth of the material, the weight in their hands, the texture of the grain. No manufacturer in the world offered wooden magnetic blocks with self-rotating magnets. I decided to change that.
WABI is the result of over 2 years of design work and testing. Each piece is crafted from solid beech wood with a neodymium magnet on a rotating mechanism inside — the patented Dynamic Magnet® technology.
Dynamic Magnet® Technology
In traditional magnetic blocks, magnets are fixed in place — sometimes they attract, sometimes they repel. Children get frustrated because they cannot understand why the blocks "won't connect."
In WABI, neodymium magnets rotate on their own — they always attract, never repel. A child simply places one block next to another and builds. Zero frustration, 100% intuition. This is a patented solution you won't find in any other wooden blocks on the market.

Natural wood feels warm to the touch — not cold plastic. Children are more drawn to a material that feels pleasant in their hands.

The solid weight of wood gives a child tactile feedback while building. Structures are more stable, and play becomes more engaging.

WABI in the Eduklocki Method
WABI serves as the magnetic station in the original Eduklocki Method — a pedagogical system based on four types of building blocks. The method was evaluated by the Polish Centre for Education Development (ORE) with a score of 81.33 out of 90 and included in the national programme "Za kwadrans osma."
In the three-station model (magnetic + construction + sensory), WABI develops 3D spatial thinking — a child intuitively builds towers, bridges and structures, learning spatial relationships without instructions.
The Creator of WABI
For over 18 years I have been running klocki.edu.pl from Czestochowa, Poland. We have supplied over 2,500 kindergartens and schools, and fulfilled nearly 150,000 retail orders. WABI is my answer to a question I asked myself for years: why doesn't anyone make wooden magnetic blocks? Now we make them ourselves — in Poland, from Polish beech wood.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are WABI blocks different from plastic magnetic blocks?
WABI are the only wooden magnetic blocks with Dynamic Magnet® technology — the magnets rotate on their own and always attract. Plastic magnetic blocks have fixed magnets that sometimes repel. Additionally, WABI offers the warmth and weight of natural beech wood, something plastic simply cannot provide.
What age are WABI blocks suitable for?
Ages 3 and up (in accordance with EN 71). The neodymium magnets are permanently sealed inside the wood — they cannot be removed or swallowed. The blocks have passed EN 71-1, EN 71-2 and EN 71-3 safety testing.
Which WABI set should I start with?
WABI 40 is the best starter choice — enough pieces for independent 3D building. For a gift, WABI 20 works perfectly. For kindergartens and group play, we recommend WABI 80 or WABI 120.
Are WABI Planks the same as WABI magnetic blocks?
No — WABI Planks are wooden planks without magnets, designed for free building, balancing and stacking. The classic WABI sets (20/40/80/120) are magnetic blocks with Dynamic Magnet® technology.
