The Eduklocki Method — Learning Through Play with Building Blocks

The Eduklocki Method — Learning Through Play with Building Blocks

The Eduklocki Method is an original pedagogical approach developed by Tomasz Palasz, founder of klocki.edu.pl. Evaluated by the Polish Centre for Education Development (ORE) with a score of 81.33 out of 90 and incorporated into the national curriculum programme "Za kwadrans osma." Used in over 2,500 kindergartens and schools across Poland.

How the Eduklocki Method Was Born

Since 2007 — when I started selling building blocks on Allegro — I kept asking myself one question: why do children abandon some toys after five minutes, yet spend an hour with others?

Over more than a decade, we supplied thousands of kindergartens and schools. From conversations with teachers, parent feedback and our own experience, a clear pattern emerged: no single type of building block develops a child comprehensively. Magnetic blocks teach spatial thinking. Construction blocks teach planning. Spherical blocks exercise the entire hand. Educational blocks combine play with learning.

In 2018, I formalised this into a system. The Eduklocki Method — four pillars, four types of blocks, one goal: comprehensive child development from ages 3 to 10.

Four Pillars

WABI

Magnetic (solid beech wood)

3D spatial thinking. Children build intuitively — Dynamic Magnet® magnets always attract. Ages 3+.

Morphun

Construction (rotating connectors)

Planning and sequences. Activity cards for learning letters and numbers. Over 100 awards. Ages 4+.

Loowi

Spherical (press-fit)

Whole-hand motor skills. The only spherical building blocks. Winner of the "Child-Friendly World" award. Ages 3+.

Little Architect

Educational (picture building)

Learning letters, numbers and shapes through building. Children learn to write without realising they are learning. Ages 3+.

The Three-Station Model

In kindergartens, the three-station model works best: magnetic (WABI), construction (Meli/Morphun) and sensory. A group of 20–25 children rotates every 15 minutes. No arguments over blocks, because each station offers a completely different type of play.

Each type of block develops something different — and together they develop the child from fine motor skills to abstract thinking. This is not a printable lesson plan. It is a way of thinking about play.
